This adapter converts an existing wired CarPlay or Android Auto connection to wireless. It does not add CarPlay or Android Auto to a vehicle that does not already support the wired version.

Works very well with android auto in a 2021 ford ranger px3. The only thing to be aware of in this specific vehicle, is that because the vehicle continues to supply power to the usb ports after turning the vehicle off, if you don’t walk far enough away with your phone so that the adapter disconnects from bluetooth, it dosen’t reset the connection so that it won’t restart the connection once you turn the car back on. So if you run into the shops to grab something quickly and don’t go more than about 30m from your car, it won’t reconnect. This is easily fixed by removing the adapter from the usb port and replacing it Would recommend Much much better than plugging in a wire each time
